Ballet Repertoire

In this class, students step into the world of great classical ballets, exploring and rehearsing iconic solos, duets and ensemble pieces from productions such as Swan Lake, La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, Giselle, and many more.

Each session focuses on more than just learning the choreography – we work on capturing the authentic style, musicality and dramatic expression of each role. Students develop the ability to tell a story through movement, embody a character, and perform with confidence and stage presence.

Part of this class is to prepare for:

  • Open house
  • Performances
  • Competitions

Pre-Pointe

Designed for students preparing to transition to Pointe work, this class focuses on building:

  • Mobility and strength of feet and toes
  • Body and feet alignment, placement and awareness
  • Injury prevention
  • Recovery & Rehabilitation from injuries

Through carefully structured exercises, students develop the foundation they need to move safely and confidently on Pointe.

Essential part of this class is also explanations of how to choose and properly prepare your first Pointe shoes!

Pointe Class

For young dancers who have already been on Pointe minimum 1-2 years. This class provides focused instruction on Pointe technique, always prioritizing proper form and injury prevention.

Dancers work on:

  • Strengthening the feet, ankles and legs for secure and controlled pointe work
  • Improving balance, stability and smooth weight transitions
  • Developing clean articulation of feet
  • Building endurance, confidence and stamina for Ballet Repertoire
  • Applying artistry, elegance and expression while dancing on pointe

Floor barre (stretching & strengthening)

It is a unique and effective training method that helps students improve their ballet technique while minimizing strain on the body.

Strong, flexible, and balanced bodies are the foundation for successful ballet training. The program is designed to help our students develop physical strength, coordination, and injury prevention. These classes focus on building overall strength, improving flexibility, and enhancing stamina – crucially important qualities for ballet.

Through a combination of targeted exercises, students will work on developing the muscles needed to support their ballet training, focusing on:

  • Core Strength: Building a strong, stable core to improve balance, posture, and overall technique.
  • Flexibility: Stretching and lengthening muscles to increase mobility and prevent injury.
  • Endurance and Stamina: Enhancing cardiovascular fitness to keep students energized and able to perform with strength and grace.
  • Muscle Control: Teaching precision in movement, ensuring that every action is intentional and controlled.

Character Dance

Unique dance style class, taught ONLY at OlgaMirza.Ballet!
Character dance is a vibrant and essential part of classical ballet training, rooted in traditional folk styles. This class develops musicality, rhythm, coordination, and stage presence, while introducing students to the cultural richness of ballet heritage!

  • We learn very special dance movements, exercises & styles of different nationalities
  • We dance the proud Polish “Mazurka”, the passionate Spanish “Seguidilla”, the cheerful Russian “Kalinka” and the Ukrainian “Hopak”, the perky Italian “Tarantella”, the mysterious & languid “Arabic dance”…(and much more!)
  • We learn to dance in special heels-shoes, with a large rose in your hair, with a light lace scarf or a ringing tambourine, or a fan in your hands. And how gracefully you will learn how to use different props in dance!
  • We learn how to use skills & knowledge from Character dance for Ballet variations & Repertoire. For example, Spanish Kitri from “Don Quixote” or Hungarian princes “Raymonda”.
  • We learn how to show the stage emotions & how to “switch” them depending on the style of the dance.
